Almost 5 Years
It has been almost 5 years since my Colon Surgery, with no sign of cancer returning.
I am due for my next Colonoscopy sometime in September. Hopefully all continues to go well.

Feeling GREAT
My DR's review was yesterday. He said I am "good to go", with another review in six months. The cancer was only "stage two", therefore, no follow on medication necessary.
The surgery scars are healing nicely.
I am feeling GREAT!

Status - Feeling Much Better
It is now (about) three weeks after my Colon Resection Surgery, I am now pain-free and have NOT taken Pain Med's for several days. I am still a little weak, but have climbed the 32 steps to my Loft Apartment several times, with only short rests after each assent. I have stayed a few days at my Loft, but mostly I stay at my Son's house without stairs.
I am hoping that my strength and endurance returns. The Doctors said: for six week after the surgery that I can NOT lift anything more than about 5 pounds , but he also said: "after six weeks you can lift 2000 pounds, if you want"! - That is good news, but I think I may not WANT!
I have appointments for surgery review, evaluation and maybe some more tests, they are scheduled after the first of the year.
Some good news, I have lost about 35 lbs during this ordeal - I hope I can keep the weight off, although I do not recommend this as a weight reduction method.

Current Status
My Colon Resection Surgery was on Dec 5, all went as expected from the Doctors perspective. From my perspective and while still in the hospital; I had a few rough days with lots of pain, and a few good days without much pain.
On Thursday Dec 11, I was released to go home to Chip's (my son) house for reset and recuperation. So far at Chip's home, I have had a few good days and a few painful days.
The following is a little graphic, so stop here if necessary.
Late on Dec 12, I made a trip to back to the emergency room with lots of pain, followed with little pain and some rest. The initial instruction suggested to take Pain Med's as necessary, foolishly I stopped take Pain Med's when feeling better, and then paid the price.
Late on Saturday Dec 14, more pain and retching from both ends. But I think retching has "reset" my system with empty bowels with very little bloating.
Currently I have been taking Pain Med's on time (via the clock), Late last evening I slept for about 12 good hours (while taking Med's each 4 hours).
Sunday Dec 14, pain has now calmed down to just a slight dull pain that appears to be manageable (fingers crossed). Today I have had two very small meals; early some oat meal and later 1/3 banana.

Tinitive Surgery Date
My surgery is currently scheduled for Dec 5 AM, but that is dependant on my lingering Cough.
The last minute reschedule will depend on how much my Cough has been reduced by then. Next available time will be after Christmas.
